Militarization in the Arctic: Russia & Beyond

The Arctic is 're-militarising', post the one witnessed during the Cold War. The contemporary militarising activity is constructive in nature, involving climate change, climate readiness, race for polar scapes and empowering the Arctic Ocean. The warm-up rather skews the Russian way considering its Polar proximity for Russia that accounts for more than 50 per cent of the Arctic coastline. Additional concepts pertaining to the military revival, 'Cooperation First, Competition Next', Military for Peace has engulfed the Polar region. This rejig is inclusive of NATO's inroads, commercial and conservationist initiatives from the Arctic countries including Norway, Denmark, Iceland, Finland, Sweden, Canada and the US.
