Mali: Joint military kills IS commander  

On 29 April, BBC reported that IS Commander, Abu Huzeifa, was killed by Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger joint troops. Mali state TV reported that Abu Huzeifa was also known as “Higgo,” a Moroccan national and Commander of the IS in the Sahel region. He was killed in an operation carried out in the Menaka region. He was linked to several high profile raids in the Sahel region including a 2017 attack where four US soldiers were killed.
