About the Course

Global Politics:
Contemporary World Affairs
Winter 2019

The course provides an introduction to contemporary world affairs. The primary objectives of the course are two: first, to enhance the understanding of contemporary global developments with an attempt to comprehend the larger picture and second, to identify and predict the trends leading to a forecast of contemporary world events.

The Course will have the following five modules: Contemporary World Order, Regional Security, Maritime Security, Science and Security and International Economy and Security.

The course looks at contemporary developments in global politics. In addition, it also provides a specialised area specific introduction to bilateral and internal conflicts in South Asia for those students who would like to pursue a course or internship as a part of their post-graduate and graduate programmes.

The course inculcates among the students' basic research skills to identify contemporary problems, make a coherent argument, efficient presentation, and fluent writing styles.
