NIAS Polar and Ocean Studies

NIAS Polar and Ocean Studies aims to study the polar regions -
the Arc􀆟c and Antarc􀆟c. On the Oceans, it aims to study the
following ver􀆟cals: Governance, Conserva􀆟on, Blue Economy,
Security, Infrastructure, Ocean Health, Ocean Science, Ocean
as a Global Common and Mari􀆟me Security. Indo-Arc􀆟c
Reader is an academic ini􀆟a􀆟ve started by NIAS Global Poli􀆟cs
under the Science, Technology and Interna􀆟onal Rela􀆟ons
Programme.
Indo-Arc􀆟c Reader will focus on capacity building amongst
young scholars, expert lectures by prominent academicians
and diplomats, monthly discussions on Europe and a Monthly
Dispatch – Indo Arc􀆟c Reader.

About the team

Prof D Suba Chandran is the Dean of the School of Conflict and Security Studies at NIAS. He heads the Science, Technology and International Relations. He coordinates the NIAS Europe Studies.

Padmashree Anandhan is a Project Associate at NIAS, Bangalore. She is associated with the NIAS Europe Studies. Her research focuses on issues relating to politics, protests, maritime and NATO' operations in the Western Europe and Nordic.

Sreeja JS is a Research Intern at NIAS, Bangalore. She is currently a postgraduate scholar at Madras Christan College, Chennai. Her areas of interest include EU-China relatons, challenges in EU integraton and emerging technologies
