UK: Anthropic Mythos access denied to British banks for cyber security checks
On 30 May, Reuters reported that British banks have not received access to Anthropic’s Mythos Artificial Intelligence Model for a trial run to test their security systems against cyber security attacks. Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey stated that despite Anthropic willing to provide their artificial intelligence models for cyber security surveillance the deal has halted due to impending political hindrance. He stated, “It hasn't happened yet and I think this has been somewhat caught up in the process with the U.S. ⁠administration”.

Japan and France: Softbank set to build AI infrastructure in Haute de France, announces 45 billion euro plan
On 31 May, Reuters reported that Japan’s technology company Softbank has announced an investment plan of 45 billion euro to build AI infrastructure in the northern part of Haute de France and is set to deliver 3.1 GW capacity. French engineering company Schneider Electronics and State owned Nuclear Energy Company EDP are some notable key partners in the deal and is set to start operating by 2031. SoftBank founder Masayoshi Son stated that, "The fact that ‌the ⁠country is a producer and exporter of energy is absolutely decisive for investments in AI infrastructure.” The investment plans are due to be formally announced ⁠on Monday at the annual Choose France business conference.
